Celebration of Bengali Poush and Pitha Festival – 2018 held at Hamdard University Bangladesh  

The Faculty of Unani and Ayurvedic Medicine of Hamdard University Bangladesh organized a Bengali Poush and Pitha Festival – 2018 on 09 January 2018 at its permanent campus, Hamdard Nagar, Gazaria, Munshiganj. The honorable Founder and Chief patron of Hamdard University Bangladesh Dr Hakim Md. Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan was the Chief Guest. The special guests were members of Board of Trustees Lt. Colonel Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury (Retd.), Mohammad Zamal Uddin (Russell), the Treasurer of the University Prof. Dr. Md. Ghulam Murtaza, the Registrar Md. Lutfur Rahman, and the Controller of Examinations Md. Nurul Huda. Among others, Deans of the Faculties, Heads of the Departments of Unani and Ayurvedic Medicine, all faculty members, students were present. The Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Md. Abdul Mannan, PhD presided over the program.

The welcome speech was presented by the member of Board of Trustees Dr. Hakim Nargish Marjhan.

The honorable Founder of the University Dr Hakim Md. Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan expressed his sincere thanks to all concerned of the Faculty of Unani and Ayurvedic Medicine for arranging such kind of festival. He urged to the students for ensuring good treatment for their patients after their graduation from the Faculty of Unani and Ayurvedic Medicine. He ensured to all concerned of the University that the authority of the University will provide all kinds of facilities to the students of Hamdard University Bangladesh.

 

The VC of the University Prof. Md. Abdul Mannan highly appreciated such kind of initiative of the Faculty of Unani and Ayurvedic Medicine. He also said that he is grateful to all the guests for attending this festival. He briefly discussed the culture of Bangladesh and said that we have to cherish our traditional festivals in our heart. The students of   the University will become renowned doctors, researchers, scientists, scholars, engineers and professors, hoped Prof Mannan.
