The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Hamdard University Bangladesh organized Freshers’ Reception and Farewell Program 2019 on 20 April 2019 at Hamdard Nagor, Gazaria, Munshiganj. The Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Dr Md Abul Khair was present as the Chief Guest. The program was attended by the Registrar Dr Md Moazzom Hossain, the Controller of Examinations Md Nurul Huda, the head of Department of Economics Dr M Liaquat Ali Khan, Prof Anwarul Hoque, the Head of the Department of English Nujhat Nuari Islam, all the faculty members along with all students of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sadirul Islam presided over the program.

On the same occasion a group of students of the Department of English and Economics was also honored for their outstanding results in different semesters.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Dr Md Abul Khair welcomed freshers and thanked them the for selecting Hamdard University Bangladesh for their higher study. He briefly discussed the name of “Hamdard” and its meaning “Friend of Sufferer”.  Furthermore, he also advised the students to follow the rules and regulation of the University. At the end, he advised the students that they should set up their future goal from now on and said goodbye to outgoing students.

Prof Dr Mohammad Sadirul Islam expressed his sincere thanks to the Chief Guest for attending the program. He briefly discussed the positive characteristic of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. He welcomed the Freshers and wished good luck to the outgoing students of the Faculty Arts and Social Sciences.

After the discussion program, a colorful cultural program was organized by the students of English and Economics Department.
